Energy drinks are popular both on their own and as part of the package you receive when you use some popular diet programs. But are they safe? According to the science, not really. They artificially raise your blood pressure and increase the risk or heart issues. But it’s not the caffeine that’s the problem. Black coffee has a similar amount of caffeine but doesn’t carry the same risks. So the thought is, it’s something else in the formula; which (sadly) they don’t have to tell us much about because it is considered a dietary supplement and not regulated.
With that and the fact that they are HIGHLY processed and not food at all, we would suggest not using them.
