Liquid takes up space, so yes. It also moves through the stomach pretty quickly so I wouldn’t “blame” liquid on feeling too full. Sometimes if you eat something starch-y like rice it will absorb more liquid in the stomach and swell. The combination can be uncomfortable if you ate too much volume. But as I mentioned above, if you’re eating fibrous plants it’s hard to overeat.
